Blue Heron Half-Marathon

Lace up your running shoes and get ready for an unforgettable adventure through the stunning Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area! The Blue Heron Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Fun Run presented by the Creston Rotary Club and held each September in the Creston Valley is the perfect opportunity to test your endurance while taking in the breathtaking scenery.


The 10K and 5K courses start at the Wildlife Center and offer a picturesque route that flanks the conservation area wetlands, with rolling hills on pavement for a challenging yet manageable run. But if you're up for a bigger challenge, the half marathon course starts at the Wildlife Center and takes you on a winding journey through the conservation area wetlands, past treed areas, and home sites before arriving at the Kootenay River. There, you'll enjoy a flat, scenic run alongside the winding river for 9km, with the chance to spot bald eagles, deer, and other wildlife along the way.


This event is perfect for runners of all levels, from seasoned pros to casual enthusiasts looking to take part in a fun run. And with the added bonus of experiencing the stunning natural beauty of the Creston Valley, it's an event you won't want to miss!
