Harvest Share Volunteer Fruit Picking

Looking for a unique U-Pick experience with a community feel? Run by the Creston Valley Food Action Coalition, Harvest Share is a unique volunteer-based U-Pick program that invites visitors to help harvest excess fruit from local backyards between June and November. Volunteers keep one-third of what they pick, with the rest shared between the tree owner and local social and charitable organizations like food banks—turning a fun seasonal activity into a meaningful way to give back.

Depending on the time of year, you might be picking cherries, plums, apricots, peaches, apples, pears, and more. It’s a great way to connect with Creston’s agricultural roots, meet local residents, and help reduce food waste!

Please note that Pre-registration is required, and harvests are scheduled based on fruit ripeness, weather, and volunteer availability—so flexibility is a must. The program is free, but donations to support the Coalition’s work are appreciated. To learn more visit their website or to register email harvestshare@cvfac.ca.
